SUCCESS AT THE 2014 SCOTCH PIE AWARDS FOR Mr C’S-HANDCRAFTED PIES
Perthshire based pie company, Mr C’s Hand – Crafted Pies is celebrating after winning four awards at the 2014 Scotch Pie Awards. Owner, Robert Corrigan was among 99 Scottish bakers and butchers who entered products into this year’s competition.
The competition, designed to reward excellence in the Scottish baking industry, showcases bakers and butchers that create top quality artisan pastry products. Robert entered five Mr C’s pies into the competition and a panel of judges, that included, Bay City Rollers frontman, Les McKeown, awarded the following :-
Diamond – Haggis, Neeps and Tattie Pie
Gold – Scottish Venison Pie
Silver – Apple Pie
Bronze – Pork, Chorizo with Chilli Pie
Commenting on the awards, Robert said, “The World Scotch Pie championship rewards bakers and butchers that create top quality artisan pastry products. I’m very proud and delighted that the quality of Mr C’s Hand-Crafted pies has once again been recognised as being amongst the best in the country”.
The awards ceremony followed a busy judging day, that saw a record number of 543 products being entered into this years competition. These included, pies, pasties, sausage rolls, bridies savouries and for the first time in the competition, ‘Apple pie’.
Allan Clarke, of Scottish bakers, said, “Once again we have brought together the best pies and baked goods in the land and today we can really celebrate the achievements of our hard working bakers and butchers”.
Head judge, Robert Ross said, “In recognising the ‘great and the good’ in this way, the competition rewards excellence and raises the bar in the industry”.

Mr C’s Hand-Crafted Pies is based near Newburgh, Perthshire and supplies high end deli’s, butchers, farm shops and other food company’s throughout the country.
The company has been producing pies since 2010 and immediately gained a reputation as top quality producer, by winning awards at both the World Scotch Pie championships and the British Pie Awards. There are a total of 12 pies in the Mr C’s range.
